California voters want better choices and better representation.

In a July 2026 statewide survey conducted by Centerline Research and Strategy for Better Choices for Democracy, only one-third of voters say that their elected officials care about people like them. Majorities of respondents say they feel stuck choosing the lesser of two evils in November, that they do not have enough meaningful choices on the ballot and special interests get too much attention.
